Maxipime (cefepime hydrochloride) is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat many kinds of bacterial infections, including severe or life-threatening forms.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• fever,
• confusion,
• seizure,
• sore throat,
• skin pain,
• little or no urination,
• swelling in your feet or ankles,
• severe stomach pain,
• hallucinations,
• trouble speaking,
• hearing problems,
• burning in your eyes,
• diarrhea that is watery or bloody,
• shortness of breath
• red or purple skin rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling,
• swelling in your face or throat,
• tiredness, and
• difficulty reading,
• trouble understanding the words of other people,
