Cardura (doxazosin mesylate)

Cardura (doxazosin) is an alpha-1 adrenergic blocker prescribed for treating high blood pressure, and symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH, a noncancerous enlargement of the prostate gland). Cardura is available as a generic drug.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• trouble breathing
• a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out
• severe ongoing stomach pain or bloating
• new or worsening chest pain
• an erection that is painful or lasts 4 hours or longer
