Cardizem LA (diltiazem)

Cardizem LA (diltiazem hydrochloride) is a calcium channel blocker used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), angina (chest pain), and certain heart rhythm disorders. Cardizem LA is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• nausea,
• headache,
• lightheadedness,
• dizziness,
• weakness,
• sore throat,
• constipation,
• flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling),
• upset stomach,
• cough, or
• tired feeling,
