Capozide (captopril and hydrochlorothiazide)

Capozide (captopril and hydrochlorothiazide tablets) is a combination of an ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme) inhibitor and a thiazide diuretic (water pill) used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). Capozide is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • vomiting,
  • fever,
  • easy bruising,
  • unusual bleeding,
  • pale skin,
  • lightheadedness,
  • shortness of breath,
  • confusion,
  • chills,
  • chest pain,
  • vision problems,
  • fluttering in your chest,
  • weight gain,
  • constipation,
  • swelling,
  • headache,
  • weakness,
  • trouble swallowing,
  • sore throat,
  • ill feeling,
  • mouth sores,
  • severe stomach pain,
  • irregular heartbeats,
  • pounding heartbeats,
  • slurred speech,
  • eye pain,
  • skin pain, and
  • increased thirst or urination,
  • sudden weakness,
  • burning in your eyes,
  • severe weakness,
  • loss of coordination,
  • feeling unsteady,
  • leg cramps,
  • numbness or tingling,
  • little or no urinating,
  • slow or unusual heart rate,
  • loss of movement,
  • muscle weakness or limp feeling,
