Infasurf (calfactant)

Infasurf (calfactant) is a lung surface acting agent, or "surfactant," used to treat or prevent respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) in a premature baby whose lungs have not fully developed. Infasurf helps the lungs function normally.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• itching,
• rash,
• wheezing,
• red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever,
• tightness in the chest or throat,
• difficulty swallowing or talking,
• unusual hoarseness,
• increased difficulty breathing,
• blue or gray skin color, and
• slow heartbeat
