Haegarda (c1 esterase inhibitor subcutaneous [human] injection)

Haegarda (C1 Esterase Inhibitor Subcutaneous [Human]) is a plasma-derived concentrate of C1 Esterase Inhibitor (Human) (C1-INH) indicated for routine prophylaxis to prevent Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) attacks in adolescent and adult patients.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • lightheadedness,
  • confusion,
  • fast heartbeats,
  • wheezing,
  • chest tightness,
  • blue lips or gums,
  • sudden numbness or weakness on one side of the body,
  • pain, swelling, warmth, or redness in an arm or leg,
  • sudden severe headache,
  • fast heart rate
  • problems with vision, speech, or balance,
  • chest pain while taking deep breaths, and
The following drugs are related to Haegarda, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Orladeyo (berotralstat capsules)
  • Ruconest (c1 esterase inhibitor [recombinant] intravenous injection)
  • Danocrine (danazol)
  • Sajazir (icatibant injection, for subcutaneous use)
  • Takhzyro (lanadelumab-flyo injection)
