Byooviz (ranibizumab-nuna injection, for intravitreal use)

type of Macular Degeneration Agents, Ophthalmics, VEGF Inhibitors

Byooviz (ranibizumab-nuna) is vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) inhibitor indicated for the treatment of patients with neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (AMD), macular edema following retinal vein occlusion (RVO), and myopic choroidal neovascularization (mCNV). 

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • eye irritation,
  • eye itching
  • vision problems, and
  • eye “floaters,”
  • cataracts,
  • eye pain, 
  • dry eye,
  • blood spots in the whites of the eyes (conjunctival hemorrhage), 
  • increased intra-ocular pressure, 
  • eye inflammation, 
  • foreign body sensation in eyes,
  • increased tearing, 
  • swelling of eyelids, 
The following drugs are related to Byooviz, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Eylea (aflibercept)
  • Beovu (brolucizumab-dbll for intravitreal injection)
  • Lucentis (ranibizumab injection)
  • Macugen (pegaptanib sodium)
  • Syfovre (pegcetacoplan injection, for intravitreal use)
  • Visudyne (verteporfin injection)
