Cephadyn (butalbital and acetaminophen) is a combination of a barbiturate and a pain reliever and fever reducer used to treat tension headaches. Cephadyn is not for treating headaches that come and go.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • skin redness,
  • rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling,
  • nausea,
  • upper stomach pain,
  • loss of appetite,
  • itching,
  • dark urine,
  • clay-colored stools, and
  • lightheadedness,
  • confusion,
  • tiredness,
  • seizure,
  • agitation,
  • restlessness,
  • depression,
  • pain,
  • fast or pounding heartbeats,
  • excitement,
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes
