Sublocade (buprenorphine injection for subcutaneous use)

Sublocade (buprenorphine extended-release) Injection contains buprenorphine, a partial opioid agonist, and is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe opioid use disorder in patients who have initiated treatment with a transmucosal buprenorphine-containing product, followed by dose adjustment for a minimum of 7 days. Sublocade should be used as part of a complete treatment program that includes counseling and psychosocial support.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • loss of appetite,
  • itching,
  • dark urine,
  • rash,
  • vomiting,
  • diarrhea,
  • weight loss,
  • confusion,
  • stomach pain,
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
  • fainting,
  • agitation,
  • unusual tiredness,
  • mood changes,
  • fast or irregular heartbeat,
  • severe stomach pain,
  • anxiety,
  • trouble sleeping,
  • severe dizziness, and
  • trouble breathing
  • irritability,
  • hallucinations,
  • unusual drowsiness,
  • interrupted breathing during sleep,
  • muscle stiffness,
  • severe dizziness,
  • slow or shallow breathing,
  • shakiness,
  • difficulty waking up,
  • swelling of the face, tongue, throat,
