Buprenex (buprenorphine)

Buprenex (buprenorphine hydrochloride) injectable is a narcotic drug indicated for the relief of moderate to severe pain.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • loss of appetite,
  • vomiting,
  • fever,
  • confusion,
  • dizziness,
  • diarrhea
  • sweating,
  • weakness,
  • noisy breathing,
  • agitation,
  • shivering,
  • little or no urination,
  • shallow breathing,
  • hallucinations,
  • twitching,
  • fast heart rate,
  • muscle stiffness,
  • loss of coordination, and
  • severe constipation,
  • slow breathing with long pauses,
  • blue colored lips or fingernails,
  • difficult to wake up,
  • sighing,
  • breathing that stops during sleep,
  • slow heartbeat,
  • weak pulse,
  • feeling of extreme happiness,
  • worsening tiredness,
The following drugs are related to Buprenex, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Combogesic (acetaminophen and ibuprofen tablets)
  • Brixadi (buprenorphine extended-release injection)
  • Opvee (nalmefene nasal spray)
