Posimir (bupivacaine solution)
type of Local Anesthetics, Amides
Posimir (bupivacaine solution) contains an amide local anesthetic and is indicated in adults for administration into the subacromial space under direct arthroscopic visualization to produce post-surgical analgesia for up to 72 hours following arthroscopic subacromial decompression.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- itching,
- vomiting,
- diarrhea,
- fever,
- numbness,
- tingling,
- dizziness,
- constipation,
- headache,
- slow heart rate,
- drowsiness, and
- procedural pain,
- changes in taste,
- anemia,
- ringing in the ears (tinnitus),
- pain or discomfort when urinating,
- increased C-reactive protein,
- post procedural bruising,
- surgical site bleeding
The following drugs are related to Posimir, either as a replacement or used together:
- Celebrex (celecoxib)
- Percocet (oxycodone and acetaminophen)
- Roxicet (oxycodone and acetaminophen)
- Oxycontin (oxycodone hcl)
- Roxicodone (oxycodone hydrochloride)
- Roxicodone 15, 30 mg (oxycodone hydrochloride)
