Tarpeyo (budesonide delayed release capsules)

Tarpeyo (budesonide) is a corticosteroid indicated to reduce proteinuria in adults with primary immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) at risk of rapid disease progression, generally a urine protein-to-creatinine ratio (UPCR) ≥ 1.5 g/g.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • lightheadedness,
  • vomiting,
  • weakness,
  • tiredness,
  • hives, 
  • difficulty breathing, 
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, 
  • easy bruising, 
  • impotence,
  • acne,
  • thinning skin,
  • pain or burning when you urinate, 
  • bruising, 
  • stretch marks, 
  • swelling in your ankles, 
  • increased body fat, and
  • changes in the shape or location of body fat (especially in your face, neck, back, and waist)
  • increased acne or facial hair, 
  • rectal bleeding, 
  • menstrual problems, 
  • loss of interest in sex (in men),
