Brevicon (norethindrone and ethinyl estradiol tablets)

Brevicon (norethindrone and ethinyl estradiol) is a combination of female hormones used as contraception to prevent pregnancy. Brevicon is also used to treat severe acne.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • vomiting
  • headache
  • dizziness
  • changes in your menstrual periods, or
  • decreased sex drive
  • vaginal itching or discharge
  • breast swelling or tenderness
  • nausea (especially when you first start taking Brevicon)
  • bloating
  • stomach cramps
  • appetite or weight changes
  • nipple discharge
  • nervousness
  • problems with contact lenses
  • freckles or darkening of facial skin
  • loss of scalp hair
  • increased hair growth
The following drugs are related to Brevicon, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Depo-Provera (medroxyprogesterone)
  • Orsythia (levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol tablets)
  • Tri-Linyah (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol tablets)
