Bretylium (bretylium tosylate injection)

Bretylium (bretylium tosylate) injection is an antiarrhythmic drug used in emergency medicine, cardiology, and other specialties for treatment of severely abnormal heart rhythm (ventricular fibrillation) and fast heartbeat (tachycardia). Bretylium has been discontinued, but generics may be available.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- itching,
- rash,
- dizziness,
- severe headache,
- fever
- wheezing,
- fainting,
- red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever,
- tightness in the chest or throat,
- unusual hoarseness,
- trouble swallowing or talking,
- new or worsening fast or irregular heartrate, and
