Botox (botulinum toxin type a)

type of Neuromuscular Blockers, Depolarizing, Botulinum Toxins

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) is an injectable neuro-toxin used for the treatment of chronic migraines, limb spasticity, axillary hyperhidrosis, cervical dystonia, strabismus, and blepharospasm.

The drug is often used to treat Dystonia , Hyperhidrosis .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • shortness of breath,
  • chest pain,
  • cough,
  • sore throat,
  • irregular heartbeat,
  • trouble breathing,
  • vision changes,
  • eye pain,
  • chest tightness,
  • unusual or severe muscle weakness,
  • difficulty talking or swallowing,
  • loss of bladder control,
  • hoarse voice,
  • drooping eyelids,
  • severely dry or irritated eyes,
  • light sensitivity,
  • pain spreading to the jaw or shoulder,
  • pain or burning when urinating,
  • trouble emptying the bladder,
  • swelling of the eyelids, and
  • crusting or drainage from the eyes
