Velcade (bortezomib)

Velcade (bortezomib) is an antineoplastic (anticancer) agent used to treat multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma, and is sometimes given after other cancer medications have been tried without successful treatment.

The drug is often used to treat Multiple myeloma .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • vomiting,
  • diarrhea,
  • fever,
  • easy bruising,
  • unusual bleeding,
  • pale skin,
  • lightheadedness,
  • shortness of breath,
  • cold hands and feet,
  • confusion,
  • tiredness,
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
  • vision problems,
  • fluttering in your chest,
  • seizure,
  • severe headache,
  • constipation,
  • flu-like symptoms,
  • weakness,
  • mouth sores,
  • muscle cramps,
  • rapid weight gain,
  • swelling in your lower legs,
  • fast heart rate,
  • skin sores,
  • decreased urination, and
  • cough with mucus,
  • severe or ongoing nausea,
  • feeling very thirsty or hot,
  • buzzing in your ears,
  • thinking problems,
  • hot and dry skin,
  • heavy sweating,
  • sleep problems,
  • right-sided stomach pain,
  • new or worsening nerve problems (numbness, burning, weakness, or tingly feeling),
  • unable to urinate,
  • tingling around your mouth
