Ziac (bisoprolol and hydrochlorothiazide)

Ziac (bisoprolol fumarate and hydrochlorothiazide) is a combination of a thiazide diuretic (water pill) and a beta-blocker used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Ziac is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • upper stomach pain,
  • loss of appetite,
  • itching,
  • dark urine,
  • lightheadedness,
  • shortness of breath,
  • confusion,
  • tiredness,
  • clay-colored stools,
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
  • chest pain,
  • dizziness,
  • fluttering in your chest,
  • blurred vision,
  • constipation,
  • swelling,
  • headache,
  • sweating,
  • weakness,
  • sore throat,
  • increased urination,
  • muscle weakness,
  • rapid weight gain,
  • irregular heartbeats,
  • irritability,
  • extreme thirst,
  • eye pain,
  • skin pain, and
  • burning in your eyes,
  • tunnel vision,
  • leg cramps,
  • numbness or tingling,
  • limp feeling,
  • feeling jittery,
  • hungers,
  • fast, slow, or uneven heartbeats,
  • Get medical help right away, if you have any of the symptoms listed above.
