Helidac (bismuth subsalicylate)
type of
Helidac Therapy (bismuth subsalicylate/metronidazole/tetracycline hydrochloride) is a combination of antibiotics used to treat Helicobacter pylori, a bacterial infection involved in causing stomach ulcers.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- headache,
- dizziness,
- metallic taste in mouth,
- vomiting,
- indigestion,
- diarrhea,
- constipation,
- loss of appetite,
- stomach or abdominal pain,
- vaginal itching or discharge,
- cold symptoms (stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat),
- mouth pain,
- trouble swallowing,
- swollen tongue, or
- black or "hairy" tongue.
The following drugs are related to Helidac, either as a replacement or used together:
- Maxipime (cefepime hydrochloride for injection)
- Voquezna (vonoprazan; amoxicillin; clarithromycin / vonoprazan; amoxicillin)
