Biaxin, Biaxin XL (clarithromycin)

Biaxin (clarithromycin) is a macrolide antibiotic prescribed for certain bacterial infections including skin and middle ear infections, tonsillitis, throat infections, laryngitis, pneumonia, and tuberculosis. Biaxin is available in generic form.

The drug is often used to treat Laryngitis , Pneumonia , Tonsillitis .

This drug may have the following side effects:

• upper stomach pain,
• loss of appetite,
• dark urine,
• shortness of breath,
• confusion,
• tiredness,
• fluttering in your chest,
• swelling in your feet or ankles,
• feeling tired,
• severe stomach pain,
• fast or pounding heartbeats,
• sudden dizziness,
• spinning sensation,
• diarrhea containing blood,
• clay-colored stool,
• yellowing of eyes and skin (jaundice),
• little or no urine,
