Diprolene Ointment (betamethasone dipropionate)

Diprolene (augmented betamethasone dipropionate) is a corticosteroid used to treat a variety of skin conditions (for example, eczema, dermatitis, allergies, rash). Diprolene is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • blurred vision,
  • weight gain,
  • dry mouth,
  • fruity breath odor,
  • slow wound healing,
  • increased body hair,
  • muscle weakness,
  • depression,
  • eye pain,
  • increased thirst or urination,
  • tunnel vision,
  • seeing halos around lights,
  • tired feeling,
  • anxiety, and
  • severe skin irritation where the medicine was applied,
  • signs of skin infection (swelling, redness, warmth, oozing),
  • thinning skin,
  • puffiness in your face,
  • irritableness
