Benicar (olmesartan medoxomil) is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist used to reduce and control hypertension (high blood pressure). Generic Benicar is available outside of the U.S.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea
  • loss of movement
  • lightheadedness
  • chest pain
  • swelling in your hands or feet
  • tingly feeling
  • weakness
  • little or no urination
  • fast or irregular heartbeat
