Benlysta (belimumab)

Benlysta (belimumab) is a monoclonal antibody indicated for the treatment of adult patients with active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Benlysta has not been evaluated in patients with severe active lupus nephritis or severe active central nervous system lupus.
The drug is often used to treat Lupus .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- nausea,
- itching,
- fever,
- lightheadedness,
- chills,
- severe headache,
- wheezing,
- chest pain or pressure,
- sweating
- anxiety,
- trouble sleeping,
- mood or behavior changes,
- trouble breathing,
- chest tightness,
- pain or burning when you urinate,
- urinating more than usual,
- skin redness and swelling,
- cough with mucus,
- bloody diarrhea,
- new or worsening depression,
- risk-taking behavior,
- thoughts about hurting yourself or others,
- pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder, and
