Sirturo (bedaquiline tablets)

Sirturo (bedaquiline) is a a diarylquinoline antimycobacterial drug used to treat adults with pulmonary multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) when other alternatives are not available. Sirturo is the first drug approved to treat multi-drug resistant TB and should be used in combination with other drugs used to treat TB.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • loss of appetite,
  • dark urine,
  • clay-colored stools, and
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • shortness of breath,
  • tiredness,
  • chest pain,
  • fluttering in your chest,
  • stomach pain (upper right side),
  • coughing up blood,
  • vomit that looks like coffee grounds,
  • fast or pounding heartbeats,
  • sudden dizziness,
