Theracys (bcg live (intravesical))

TheraCys [BCG Live (Intravesical)] is made using the organisms of a bacteria (Bacillus Calmette and Guérin) used to treat bladder cancer that is localized (has not spread to other parts of the body).

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • upper stomach pain,
  • vomiting,
  • fever,
  • chills,
  • flu-like symptoms,
  • weakness,
  • cough,
  • blood in the urine,
  • dark colored urine,
  • pain or burning when urinating,
  • trouble emptying the bladder,
  • yellowing of your skin or eyes,
  • not feeling well, and
  • weak stream of urine,
  • aches,
The following drugs are related to Theracys, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Tecentriq (atezolizumab injection)
  • Bavencio (avelumab injection)
  • Platinol (cisplatin for injection)
  • Platinol-AQ (cisplatin injection)
  • Cysview (hexaminolevulinate hydrochloride intravesical solution)
  • Imfinzi (durvalumab injection)
  • Kymriah (tisagenlecleucel suspension for intravenous infusion)
  • Monjuvi (tafasitamab-cxix injection)
