BayRab (rabies immune globulin (human) solvent/detergent treated)

BayRab Rabies Immune Globulin (Human) is an anti-rabies immune globulin given to all persons suspected of exposure to rabies with one exception: persons who have been previously immunized with rabies vaccine and have a confirmed adequate rabies antibody titer should receive only vaccine. BayRab Rabies Immune Globulin may be available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • fever,
  • dark urine
  • chills, and
The following drugs are related to BayRab, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Hizentra (immune globulin subcutaneous (human) injection)
  • HyperRAB (rabies immune globulin [human]) for intramuscular administration)
