Balziva (norethindrone and ethinyl estradiol tablets) is an oral contraceptive indicated for the prevention of pregnancy in women who elect to use this product as a method of contraception. Balziva is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • vomiting,
  • depression,
  • bloating,
  • breakthrough bleeding,
  • freckles or darkening of facial skin,
  • and intolerance to contact lenses.
  • abdominal cramps,
  • spotting,
  • changes in menstrual flow,
  • missed menstrual periods,
  • temporary infertility after discontinuation of treatment,
  • swelling,
  • breast tenderness or enlargement,
  • nipple discharge,
  • change in weight,
  • change in vaginal discharge,
  • migraine,
  • rash (allergic),
  • reduced tolerance to carbohydrates,
  • vaginal yeast infection,
