Bal in Oil Ampules (dimercarprol injection) is a chelating agent used to treat poisoning with arsenic, gold, or mercury. Bal in Oil Ampules is also used together with another medication called edetate disodium (EDTA) to treat lead poisoning.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- severe drowsiness,
- stomach pain,
- severe headache,
- painful or difficult urination,
- runny nose,
- swelling in your feet or ankles,
- anxiety,
- restless feeling,
- rapid heartbeats,
- shortness of breath
- little or no urinating,
- severe nausea or vomiting,
- pain or pressure in your throat or chest,
- pain, tingling, or tight feeling in your hands,
- burning sensation in your mouth and throat,
- burning sensation in your penis,
- red or watery eyes,
- twitching eyelids,
- increased salivation,
- tiredness, and
