Bafiertam (monomethyl fumarate delayed-release capsules)

Bafiertam (monomethyl fumarate) is a selective immunosuppressant indicated for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS), to include clinically isolated syndrome, relapsing-remitting disease, and active secondary progressive disease, in adults.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • loss of appetite,
  • dark urine,
  • vomiting,
  • fever,
  • confusion,
  • chills,
  • tiredness,
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
  • headache,
  • flu-like symptoms,
  • sweating,
  • stomach pain (upper right side),
  • mouth sores,
  • neck stiffness,
  • sensitivity to light,
  • severe diarrhea,
  • problems with speech, thought, vision, or muscle movement,
  • severe warmth,
  • redness, burning, or itching under your skin,
  • cold sores around your mouth,
  • tingly or painful blistering rash, and
  • burning pain in your thigh or lower back
