Bacteriostatic Water (bacteriostatic NaCl) for Injection is a preparation is used only for diluting or dissolving drugs for intravenous, intramuscular, or subcutaneous injection, according to instructions of the manufacturer of the drug to be administered. Bacteriostatic water is available in generic form.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- fever
- tenderness
- abscess
- infection at the injection site, or
- blood clot or inflammation around the site of injection
