Aygestin (norethindrone acetate)

Aygestin (norethindrone) is a form of progesterone, a female hormone, used for birth control (contraception) to prevent pregnancy. Aygestin is also used to treat menstrual disorders, endometriosis, or abnormal vaginal bleeding caused by a hormone imbalance. Aygestin is available in generic form.
The drug is often used to treat Endometriosis .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- headache,
- dizziness,
- vomiting,
- trouble sleeping,
- weight gain/loss,
- hair loss,
- stomach cramps,
- vaginal itching or discharge,
- bloating,
- freckles or darkening of facial skin,
- increased hair growth,
- changes in your menstrual periods.
