Bavencio (avelumab injection)

Bavencio (avelumab) injection is a programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) blocking antibody indicated for the treatment of adults and pediatric patients 12 years and older with metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC).

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • lightheadedness,
  • shortness of breath,
  • confusion,
  • fluttering in your chest,
  • severe headache,
  • blurred vision,
  • fainting,
  • slurred speech,
  • high fever,
  • sudden dizziness,
  • eye pain or swelling,
  • sudden vision loss,
  • tunnel vision,
  • seeing halos around lights,
  • fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeats,
  • arm or leg weakness,
  • trouble walking,
  • loss of coordination,
  • feeling unsteady,
  • very stiff muscles,
  • profuse sweating, and
  • tremors
