Avandamet (rosiglitazone maleate and metformin hcl)

Avandamet (rosiglitazone maleate and metformin hydrochloride) is a combination of two oral diabetes medicines that help control blood sugar levels for people with type 2 diabetes who do not use daily insulin injections. Avandamet is not for treating type 1 diabetes.

The drug is often used to treat Diabetes , Type 2 diabetes .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • upper stomach pain,
  • loss of appetite,
  • itching,
  • dark urine,
  • fever,
  • pale skin,
  • lightheadedness,
  • cold hands and feet,
  • clay-colored stools,
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
  • dizziness,
  • pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder,
  • swelling,
  • sweating,
  • chest pain or pressure,
  • unusual tiredness,
  • sore throat,
  • burning eyes,
  • skin pain,
  • red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling,
  • rapid weight gain,
  • rapid heartbeats,
  • changes in your vision, and
  • shortness of breath (especially when lying down),
  • sudden unusual pain in your hand, arm, or foot
