Tavneos (avacopan capsules)
type of Immunosuppressants, Complement Inhibitors
Tavneos (avacopan) is a complement 5a receptor (C5aR) antagonist indicated as an adjunctive treatment of adult patients with severe active anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (granulomatosis with polyangiitis [GPA] and microscopic polyangiitis [MPA]) in combination with standard therapy including glucocorticoids. Tavneos does not eliminate glucocorticoid use.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- chest pain,
- headache,
- dizziness,
- vomiting,
- cough,
- sore throat,
- fever,
- tiredness,
- runny nose,
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- fainting,
- severe dizziness,
- body aches,
- trouble swallowing,
- severe abdominal pain,
- earache,
- pain during urination,
- cold sores, and
- red, warm, swollen or painful skin

- Prednisolone (prednisolone tablets)
- Prelone (prednisolone (syrup))
- Prednisolone Oral Solution (prednisolone sodium phosphate oral solution)
