Auvelity (dextromethorphan and bupropion) is a novel, oral, NMDA receptor antagonist with multimodal activity used to treat adults with major depressive disorder (MDD).

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • confusion,
  • dizziness,
  • diarrhea
  • high blood pressure,
  • sweating,
  • agitation,
  • restlessness,
  • flushing,
  • vomiting, and
  • seizures,
  • panic attacks,
  • impulsive behavior,
  • aggression,
  • thoughts of self-harm,
  • hallucinations,
  • fast heartbeat,
  • loss of coordination,
  • changes in your vision,
  • new or worsening depression or anxiety,
  • difficulty sleeping (insomnia),
  • new or worsening irritability,
  • unusual changes in behavior or mood,
  • greatly increased energy,
  • racing thoughts,
  • unusual grand ideas,
  • talking more or faster,
  • severe trouble sleeping,
  • reckless behavior,
  • excessive happiness or irritability,
  • swelling or redness of your eye,
  • coma,
  • blood pressure changes,
  • high body temperature,
  • shaking (tremors),
  • stiff muscles,
  • muscle twitching,
