Austedo (deutetrabenazine) is a vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT2) inhibitor indicated for the treatment of chorea associated with Huntington's disease.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • shortness of breath,
  • confusion,
  • fluttering in your chest,
  • sweating,
  • agitation,
  • irritableness,
  • hostility,
  • aggression,
  • thoughts of self-harm,
  • very stiff (rigid) muscles,
  • high fever,
  • fast or uneven heartbeats,
  • tremors, and
  • lightheadedness
  • extreme tiredness,
  • shaking,
  • fast or pounding heartbeats,
  • sudden dizziness,
  • pain or burning when you urinate,
  • tremors,
  • muscle stiffness,
  • changes in weight or appetite,
  • crying spells,
  • feelings of low self-worth,
  • loss of interest in things you once enjoyed,
  • new sleep problems,
  • feelings of hopeless,
  • feelings of guilt,
  • severe restlessness,
  • problems with balance or coordination,
