Atripla (efavirenz/emtricitabine/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) is an antiviral medication that treats HIV, which causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Atripla is not a cure for HIV or AIDS.
The drug is often used to treat HIV .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
- sore throat
- cough
- diarrhea
- fever
- vomiting
- stomach pain
- trouble breathing
- tiredness
- dizziness
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat
- dark urine
- hallucinations
- loss of appetite
- wheezing
- weight loss
- clay-colored stools
- seizures
- muscle pain
- hives
- weakness
- unusual thoughts or behavior
- impotence
- red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling
- difficulty breathing
- burning eyes
- skin pain
- unusual medical pain
- irregular heart rate
- feeling cold
- anger
- severe depression
- thoughts of hurting yourself or others
- increased thirst and urination
- swelling around your midsection
- right-sided upper stomach pain
- night sweats
- swollen glands
- cold sores
- trouble speaking or swallowing
- problems with balance or eye movement
- prickly feeling
- swelling in your neck or throat (enlarged thyroid)
