Ativan (lorazepam)

Ativan (lorazepam) is a benzodiazepine used for the management of anxiety disorders, insomnia, panic attacks, and alcohol withdrawal. Ativan is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• upper stomach pain,
• yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
• confusion,
• severe drowsiness,
• trouble swallowing,
• muscle weakness,
• dark urine, and
• aggression,
• hallucinations,
• vision changes,
• unusual changes in mood or behavior,
• drooping eyelids,
• thoughts of suicide or hurting yourself,
• sudden restless feeling or excitement,
• worsened sleep problems,
