Tenoretic (atenolol and chlorthalidone)

Tenoretic (atenolol and chlorthalidone) is a combination of a beta-blocker and a thiazide diuretic (water pill) used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). Tenoretic is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • vomiting,
  • lightheadedness,
  • confusion,
  • dry mouth,
  • headache,
  • increased urination,
  • muscle weakness,
  • slurred speech,
  • extreme thirst,
  • fast heart rate,
  • restless feeling,
  • severe weakness,
  • loss of coordination,
  • feeling unsteady,
  • muscle pain,
  • limp feeling,
  • uneven heart rate,
  • leg discomfort,
  • fainting, and
  • seizure
  • cold feeling in your hands and feet,
  • yellowing of the skin or feet (jaundice),
