Erwinaze (asparaginase erwinia chrysanthemi)

Erwinaze (asparaginase Erwinia chrysanthemi) is indicated for the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) patients who have developed an allergy (hypersensitivity) to E. coli derived asparaginase and pegaspargase chemotherapy drugs used to treat ALL.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea
  • diarrhea
  • vomiting
  • serious allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)
  • inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis)
  • high blood levels of liver enzymes (abnormal transaminases and bilirubin)
  • blood clotting
  • bleeding (hemorrhage)
  • stomach pain, and
  • high blood sugar (hyperglycemia)

  • Symbenda (bendamustine hydrochloride)

  • Cytoxan (cyclophosphamide)
  • Nivestym (filgrastim-aafi injection)
  • Idamycin (idarubicin)
  • Idamycin PFS (idarubicin hydrochloride injection)
  • Purinethol (mercaptopurine)
  • Tasigna Capsules (nilotinib capsules)
  • Oncaspar (pegaspargase)
