ASCOR (ascorbic acid injection for intravenous use)

Ascor (ascorbic acid injection) is vitamin C indicated for the short term (up to 1 week) treatment of scurvy in adult and pediatric patients age 5 months and older for whom oral administration is not possible, insufficient or contraindicated.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • fever,
  • weight loss,
  • chills,
  • stomach pain,
  • joint pain,
  • painful or difficult urination,
  • weakness or tired feeling,
  • increased urge to urinate,
  • severe pain in your side or lower back, and
  • blood in your urine
