Ascomp with Codeine (butalbital, aspirin, caffeine, and codeine phosphate capsules) is a combination of a barbiturate, an analgesic/antipyretic/anti-inflammatory, a central nervous system stimulant, and a narcotic analgesic/antitussive indicated for the relief of the symptom complex of tension (or muscle contraction) headache.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • loss of appetite,
  • vomiting,
  • fever,
  • easy bruising,
  • lightheadedness,
  • confusion,
  • tiredness,
  • dizziness,
  • diarrhea
  • sweating,
  • weakness,
  • noisy breathing,
  • agitation,
  • shivering,
  • slow heart rate,
  • hallucinations,
  • unusual bleeding (nosebleeds, bleeding gums),
