Asacol HD (mesalamine delayed-release tablets, oral)
type of 5-Aminosalicylic Acid Derivatives
Asacol HD (mesalamine) Delayed-Release Tablet is an anti-inflammatory drug used to treat ulcerative colitis, proctitis, and proctosigmoiditis, and is also used to prevent the symptoms of ulcerative colitis from recurring.
The drug is often used to treat Ulcerative colitis .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- upper stomach pain,
- loss of appetite,
- dark urine,
- clay-colored stools, and
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
- fever,
- skin rash,
- shortness of breath,
- tiredness,
- headache,
- little or no urination,
- painful or difficult urination,
- swelling in your feet or ankles,
- severe stomach pain,
- bloody or tarry stools,
- coughing up blood,
- vomit that looks like coffee grounds,
- easy bruising or bleeding,
- bloody diarrhea,
- stomach cramping,
