Articadent (articaine hcl and epinephrine injection)

Articadent (articaine HCl and epinephrine) is an amide local anesthetic containing a vasoconstrictor indicated for local, infiltrative, or conductive anesthesia in both simple and complex dental procedures.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • lightheadedness,
  • confusion,
  • blurred vision,
  • swelling,
  • slow heart rate,
  • anxiety,
  • ringing in your ears,
  • tremors,
  • weak or shallow breathing,
  • restless feeling,
  • pain, and
  • heavy bleeding
The following drugs are related to Articadent, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Atridox (doxycycline hyclate)
  • Benzamycin (erythromycin)
  • Carbocaine (mepivacaine)
  • Periochip (chlorhexidine chip for insertion into periodontal pockets)
  • Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate 0.12% oral rinse)
  • Cleocin T (clindamycin topical)
  • Ilotycin (erythromycin)
  • Polocaine Dental (mepivacaine hydrochloride injection)
