Arthrotec (diclofenac sodium, misoprostol)

Arthrotec (diclofenac sodium/misoprostol) is a combination non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and a prostaglandin that protects the stomach from irritating effects of NSAIDs used to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in people at high risk for developing stomach or intestinal ulcers. Arthrotec is available in generic form.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- upper stomach pain,
- loss of appetite,
- itching,
- dark urine,
- fever,
- pale skin,
- lightheadedness,
- shortness of breath,
- clay-colored stools,
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
- rapid heart rate,
- swelling,
- flu-like symptoms,
- sore throat,
- swelling in your feet or ankles,
- feeling tired,
- rapid weight gain,
- slurred speech,
- bloody or tarry stools,
- coughing up blood,
- vomit that looks like coffee grounds,
- swelling in your face or tongue,
- burning in your eyes, and
- little or no urinating,
- tired feeling,
- trouble concentrating,
- sudden numbness or weakness on one side of the body,
- chest pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder,
- any skin rash,
- painful or difficulty urination,
