Artane (trihexyphenidyl)

Artane (trihexyphenidyl) is an antispasmodic drug used to treat the stiffness, tremors, spasms, and poor muscle control of Parkinson's disease. Artane is also used to treat and prevent the same muscular conditions when they are caused by certain drugs.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • dizziness,
  • blurred vision,
  • constipation,
  • nervousness,
  • dry mouth,
  • drowsiness,
  • anxiety,
  • difficulty urinating,
  • decreased sweating,
  • flushing, or
  • large pupils,
  • upset stomach.
The following drugs are related to Artane, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Kynmobi (apomorphine hydrochloride sublingual film)
  • Inbrija (levodopa inhalation powder)
  • Nourianz (istradefylline tablets)
