Aromasin (exemestane)

type of Antineoplastics Aromatase Inhibitor

Aromasin (exemestane) is an antineoplastic (anticancer) agent used to treat breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Aromasin is often given to women whose cancer has progressed even after taking tamoxifen (Nolvadex, Soltamox) for 2 to 3 years.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • headache,
  • dizziness,
  • diarrhea,
  • upset stomach,
  • tiredness,
  • anxiety,
  • hair loss,
  • trouble sleeping (insomnia).
  • hot flashes,
  • joint/bone/muscle pain,
  • unusual or increased sweating,
  • depression, and
