Aramine (metaraminol)

Aramine (metaraminol bitartrate) is a sympathomimetic amine used to prevent and treat the acute hypotensive state occurring with spinal anesthesia. Aramine is also indicated as adjunctive treatment of hypotension due to hemorrhage, reactions to medications, surgical complications, and shock associated with brain damage due to trauma or tumor. The brand name Aramine is discontinued, but generic versions may be available.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- vomiting,
- headache,
- anxiety,
- dizziness, or
- nervousness
