Aptensio XR (methylphenidate hydrochloride extended-release capsules)

Aptensio XR (methylphenidate hydrochloride extended-release) is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant indicated for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • shortness of breath,
  • seizure,
  • blurred vision,
  • fainting,
  • agitation,
  • confusion, and
  • aggression,
  • thoughts of self-harm,
  • slurred speech,
  • unusual wounds on the fingers or toes,
  • mood or behavior changes,
  • abnormal thoughts,
  • unusual sweating,
  • weakness on one side of the body,
  • vision changes,
  • shaking,
  • twitching,
  • mood swings,
  • chest, jaw, and left arm pain,
  • sudden vision changes,
  • uncontrolled muscle movements,
  • sudden outbursts of words or sounds,
  • coldness of fingers and toes,
  • numbness or pain in the fingers and toes,
  • skin color changes in the fingers and toes,
  • fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat,
  • slow healing sores,
  • ulcers on the tips of fingers or toes,
  • painful or prolonged erection lasting 4 or more hours
