Emend Capsules (aprepitant capsules)

type of Antiemetic Agents, NK1 Receptor Antagonists

Emend (aprepitant) is an antiemetic (anti-nausea) used together with other medications to prevent nausea and vomiting that may be caused by surgery or cancer chemotherapy. Emend is given ahead of time and will not treat nausea or vomiting you already have.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • headache
  • nausea
  • diarrhea
  • vomiting
  • stomach pain
  • tiredness
  • dizziness
  • constipation
  • loss of appetite
  • heartburn
  • mild skin rash
  • hair loss
  • hiccups
  • ringing in your ears
  • sleep problems (insomnia).
