Angiomax (bivalirudin)

Angiomax (bivalirudin) is a reversible direct thrombin inhibitor used to prevent blood clots in people with severe chest pain or other conditions undergoing a procedure called angioplasty (to open blocked arteries).
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- headache,
- vomiting,
- nervousness,
- fever,
- sleep problems (insomnia), or
- restlessness,
- pain in the back or pelvis,
- stomach pain or upset,
- anxiety,
- pain/bleeding/irritation where the injection was given.

- Arixtra (fondaparinux sodium)
- Bivalirudin (Angiomax) (bivalirudin injection)
