Angiomax (bivalirudin)

Angiomax (bivalirudin) is a reversible direct thrombin inhibitor used to prevent blood clots in people with severe chest pain or other conditions undergoing a procedure called angioplasty (to open blocked arteries).

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • headache,
  • vomiting,
  • nervousness,
  • fever,
  • sleep problems (insomnia), or
  • restlessness,
  • pain in the back or pelvis,
  • stomach pain or upset,
  • anxiety,
  • pain/bleeding/irritation where the injection was given.

  • ReoPro (abciximab)
  • Arixtra (fondaparinux sodium)
  • Bivalirudin (Angiomax) (bivalirudin injection)
  • Fragmin (dalteparin)
  • Ticlid (ticlopidine hcl)
